WWE NXT 2.0’s Nikkita Lyons was reportedly kept off SmackDown this week due to her COVID-19 vaccination status.

Lyons had been scheduled to appear on the show alongside Zoey Stark to compete in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament.

Ahead of the show, WWE confirmed that the pair had been pulled, citing an injury Stark suffered during her match at NXT Heatwave against NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer‘s weekend update, Lyons is not vaccinated and was unable to enter Canada where SmackDown was being taped. He said,

“Stark suffered a concussion in her match Tuesday [NXT Heatwave] with Mandy Rose and wasn’t cleared. Lyons wouldn’t have been allowed to go as they didn’t realize she wasn’t vaccinated and thus couldn’t get into Canada.”

Canada’s immigration policies mean that people entering the country are still required to show proof of vaccination.

WWE replaced the pair with Toxic Attraction’s Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin, who advanced in the tournament with a win over Natalya and Sonya Deville.
