New Japan Pro Wrestling announced earlier today that Sakura Genesis will make its return in April. The event will take place on April 4th from Sumo Hall. This will mark the first NJPW event at the venue since the G1 Climax finals in October.
New Japan did not hold the Sakura Genesis event the past two years. The show was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. In 2019, the company decided to run an event at Madison Square Garden during WrestleMania weekend.
The Road to Sakura Genesis will begin on March 28, as there will be four Road To shows before the Sumo Hall show.
