Wrestling Observer Radio has some details regarding Daniel Garcia’s booking at the PWG Battle of Los Angeles show.
As previously reported, Garcia lost to Titus Alexander via DQ in the first round of the tournament. AEW did not want a clean pinfall loss for Garcia, so the DQ finish was booked. This served two purposes: Garcia exited the tournament without dropping a fall, and it freed Garcia from the tournament so he could be a part of the JAS surprise appearance on Night 2.
Garcia was last year’s winner of the Battle of Los Angeles. He defeated “Speedball” Mike Bailey in the tournament final.
