The 2014 Mid-Atlantic Legends Fanfest will present the “Hall of Heroes”
during a banquet dinner. This will be the final event this August in Charlotte,
North Caroline. Here is a list of the inductees and a brief
description:

Angelo Poffo, Lanny Poffo and Randy “Macho Man
Savage” Poffo:
“The family members need to no explanation of their
pedigree as they are that well known. Savage is the former WWF and WCW World
champion who headlined Wrestlemanias en route to becoming one of the most
recognizable performers ever in the business. Poffo is the former poet laureate
turned Genius who went from WWF undercards to main eventing Madison Square
Garden cards. Their father, Angelo, was a world-record setter in sit-ups who
wrestled all over the world before becoming a promoter with his ICW promotion in
Tennessee, a group featuring his sons that ran a hard promotional war against
Jerry Lawler and Jerry Jarrett’s promotion.”

The Horsemen –
Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson & J.J. Dillon:
“All original members
of the famed Four Horsemen in Jim Crockett Promotions, a group that never
regained its infamy or excellence upon their departure from Jim Crockett
Promotions for the WWF. Dillon was the mastermind manager of the Horsemen after
spending years as a pro wrestler and also worked behind the scenes for many
promotions including Crockett and the WWF. Blanchard and Anderson, as a team,
were one of the finest duos of the late 1980s and continued that excellence with
a run as “The Brainbusters” in the WWF. The trio represent what, to many fans,
was the greatest heel group ever in professional wrestling
history.”

Ox Baker: “A true wild tough guy with a
colorful personality and loud, bellowing voice, Baker and his infamous heart
punch toured the world with stints in Detroit, Georgia, the AWA, and Stampede
Wrestling. Baker parlayed his trademark looks into acting appearances in a
number of films including ‘Escape from New York.'”

Tommy
Young:
“Considered one of the greatest referees ever, Young broke in
as part of Eddie Einhorn’s IWA before setting in as the top referee for Jim
Crockett Promotions. Young was synonymous with officiating with the NWA and WCW
until his retirement in the 1990s, specifically interactions with Ric Flair and
Jim Cornette.”

Gerald Brisco: “Although best known by
fans nationally as one of Vince McMahon’s stooges, Brisco was a world renowned
tough guy as both a singles star and one half of the Briscos with his brother
Jack in Mid-Atlantic, Georgia and Florida. He still works as a recruiter for WWE
today.”

Boris Malenko: “The father of Joe and Dean
Makenko, he toured all over the world as a top heel including stints in Florida,
Texas and the AWA. He later became a renowned trainer, helping to start the
careers of his sons, Sean Waltman, Fred (Typhoon) Ottman, Bill Eadie, Gangrel,
Norman Smiley and many others.”

The banquet is sold out but there are
still waiting list spots available. All of the Fanfest special events will air
live on iPPV. For the first time ever, the opening Thursday (July 31) will be
free to anyone to come and visit.
