This week, NXT hosted a special set of tapings for their upcoming July 27 and August 3 episodes that will air on the SyFy Network. According to multiple sources, NXT chose to re-shoot one segment involving NXT Champion Karrion Kross.

Recently, Kross made his main roster debut on WWE Raw in a losing effort to Jeff Hardy. Many people were upset by this booking decision and this appearance would mark his first live appearance since the defeat.
According to reports, the fans in attendance began to loudly chant “Hardy” during Kross’ segment. According to one source, NXT crew members reportedly lied to fans at the Capitol Wrestling Center to keep them in the building for the re-shoot. Here’s what they had to say:
“They even lied to us and said something special was going to happen so we wouldn’t leave.” One source said. “[A Crew Member] told me the show wasn’t over. When [we] tried to leave, he told us there was a surprise.”
While re-shoots at pre-taped events are not uncommon, typically it doesn’t occur due to a crowd “hijacking” a show. It’s unknown if the fans were genuinely just expecting a Jeff Hardy appearance, voicing their displeasure with the booking, or just “trolling” Kross.
During the tapings, it was confirmed that the main event for NXT Takeover 36 would feature Karrion Kross defending his NXT Championship against Samoa Joe.
