As announced on this week’s episode of NXT, former WWE Women’s Champion, Mickie James will challenge NXT Women’s Champion, Asuka, for the title in Toronto. This match, according to Ringside News, wasn’t the original plan. WWE had wanted another former Women’s Champion to return to face Asuka, and actually work some dates for next year, and that woman was apparently Trish Stratus.
WWE had wanted Trish to return, and had some dates for her in mind, but with her announcement of her pregnancy, she was unable to do, so WWE had reached a deal with Micke instead.
