CM Punk AEW All Out

Original Plans For AEW All Out 2022 Main Event Revealed

The main event of AEW All Out 2022 saw CM Punk reclaim the AEW World Championship in a bloodbath against Jon Moxley. A new report suggests Punk was originally penciled in to defend the championship against another top star in the company.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Punk was originally set to defend the AEW World Championship against MJF. However, an injury to his foot forced Punk to relinquish the championship, leading to a tournament to crown an interim AEW World Champion.

CM Punk is currently suspended following his involvement in a backstage brawl during the AEW All Out 2022 post-media scrum. Reports have now come out that suggest Punk’s contract with the company may be bought out soon and that he’s unlikely to return.
