We recently noted that NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano were held off this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Ciampa is reportedly dealing with an undisclosed injury, and has been removed from weekend NXT shows as a result. The injury comes just over a week after Ciampa made his main roster debut.

Ciampa and Gargano’s only appearance on RAW this week came in a backstage segment. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that the duo were initially slated for a Fatal Four-Way Tag Team match on this week’s episode of RAW. The match included other teams like Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins, Aleister Black & Ricochet, and a team that had yet to be confirmed. RAW Tag Team Champions, The Revival, were to be ringside.

When Ciampa was not medically cleared to compete, WWE switched things up to have The Revival vs. Black and Ricochet. Black and Ricochet won by pinning the RAW Tag Team Champions. Gargano and Ciampa also missed this week’s SmackDown Live. Gargano was advertised for a match against Cesaro, but that never happened.
