As seen during Wednesday night’s WWE NXT broadcast, Pat McAfee and Adam Cole continued their feud as McAfee was on commentary and took Cole out to end the show.
During a NXT Tag-Team Championship match between Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner and The Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish, McAfee continued to take some shots at Cole. Cole then confronted McAfee and threw water on him. McAfee and Cole then got into a pull-apart brawl to end the show.
Beth Phoenix took to Twitter, saying,
“The truth is, there is a lot that Pat said behind the scenes too, that I choose not to repeat. I’d heard enough. [McAfee] was disparaging toward [Cole] on a level that was unprofessional. Pat shaming Cole in such a way is not acceptable. Shame on you Pat.”
McAfee then said,
“How much was I supposed to take from this beta who is a MANIAC? Blows up on my show, breaks s**t, pushes Ty. Then..I take time out of MY HONEYMOON, so we can hug it out. Then he LOSES HIS MIND AGAIN.. assaults me w/ a bottle & I’M THE 1 THAT GETS KICKED OUT? How’s that fair?”
Obviously, this is all a storyline angle but they are trying to play it up as if it’s a shoot.
