During a recent interview with Barstool Sports, Paul Heyman spoke about Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, his respect for Goldberg and more. You can check out some highlights below:

On Daniel Bryan’s in-ring WWE return: “I am moved to tears by Daniel Bryan’s return, because ever since he’s been told by the doctors that he was being forced into retirement, the only vision Daniel Bryan had for himself was stepping back into the ring. So, not only on a day-to-day basis, not only on a minute-to-minute basis, but on a micro-moment-to-micro-moment basis, everything that Daniel Bryan—every breath that Daniel Bryan has taken—he has inhaled with the desire to step back into the ring. So, for Daniel Bryan to be given clearance, and to have the opportunity to live out what is far more than a dream, is overwhelming, because number one, he truly deserves it as a human being, and number two, he certainly deserves it as a performer, and number three, just watching someone work so hard to defy the odds, beat the system and come back from adversity is reaffirming in life. It reminds me personally that if you want it bad enough, you can make it happen no matter how much the deck is stacked against you.”

On where Brock Lesnar ending Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak ranks in WWE history: “I think Brock Lesnar conquering the streak—let me rephrase that—I think Brock Lesnar conquering the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania was the defining moment of this generation of WWE. It was the first Wrestlemania on the WWE Network, so it showed the potential audience that Wrestlemania is can’t miss and must-see. It was the biggest victory that anyone could attain in WWE, and certainly the defining moment, up until now, of Brock Lesnar’s career, because it was the biggest shock in WWE history. Outside of that, I think watching Brock Lesnar conquer the streak was something that everyone in that stadium that night will always remember. It’s the old ‘where were you when JFK was assassinated?’ or where were you when ‘this’ happened in life, when man landed on the moon. Where were you when Brock Lesnar conquered the streak? And up until this coming Wrestlemania, perhaps will go down in history as the single biggest shock in WWE history.”

On his relationship with Bill Goldberg: “I don’t know how to define it. I can tell you that I have great respect for Goldberg, both as a character and as a person. Watching him with his family, he is the type of father that all of us other fathers should aspire to being more like.”
