During this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, it was announced that a new title belt is on its way to the company. The AEW All-Atlantic Championship was announced, seemingly baring similarities to that of WWE’s Intercontinental or European Championships.
Additionally, a tournament to decide who will be the first champion was announced. Four singles matches are scheduled, with the winners of each of these matches going on to face each other in a four-way match at Forbidden Door on June 26th.

The original tournament bracket for the Championship was as follows:
- Buddy Mathews (Australia) vs PAC (United Kingdom)
- Miro (Bulgaria) vs Ethan Page (Canada)
- Penta Oscuro (Mexico) vs Malakai Black (Netherlands)
- NJPW wrestler vs NJPW wrestler
As aforementioned, the four winners of their individual matches will face off in a four-way bout to crown the first champion.
Buddy Mathews has since been eliminated from the tournament, following his defeat at the hands of PAC on this week’s episode of Dynamite.
