Per a report from Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez, the WWE has been planning three big NXT call-ups. The first was former NXT Champion Bobby Roode who dropped his title to Drew McIntyre at NXT TakeOver III: Brooklyn earlier this month, as “The Glorious One” made his debut on SmackDown Live last week. The next appears to come from Asuka, who comes off of a successful NXT Women’s Title defense against Ember Moon at NXT TakeOver III: Brooklyn as well. It was later announced that Asuka suffered an injury during the match that would keep her sidelined for several weeks.
She was forced to relinquish her title and NXT General Manager William Regal announced that she is currently in negotiations for a main roster call-up with RAW General Manager Kurt Angle and SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan. As for who the third call-up could be, The Authors Of Pain did not take part in last Thursday’s NXT tapings after losing their Tag Team titles to SAnitY at TakeOver: Brooklyn as well. Perhaps this could be the final call-up Alvarez was reporting on. We’ll keep you updated….
