The fast nationals for last night’s AEW Battle Of The Belts are in and they appear to be good, as the first ever AEW special on TNT drew 659,000 viewers, a number destined to grow when the official ratings come out on Monday.
The viewership in the 18-49 demo was 313,000, and with this being the first ever AEW TNT special on Saturday it can not be compared with anything else, although the last show held by AEW on Saturday was an episode of Rampage for Christmas, which drew significantly less. The last Saturday Dynamite was back in June and drew 649,000 viewers.
It should also be noted that a main selling point of the show was Sammy Guevara’s TNT Championship rematch against Cody Rhodes, which didn’t happen as Cody tested positive for COVID-19. Guevara ended up defeating Dustin Rhodes in the opening match to become the Interim TNT Champion.
