Randy Orton has given his take on WWE holding Crown Jewel next month in Saudi Arabia. WWE has been put in a situation where they may have to ax the show due to recent reports of travel concerns. The disappearance of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi, who was a Saudi Arabian national who had been critical of aspects of the country in his reporting, has been in the mainstream news cycle.
Orton says WWE should move forward with plans for WWE Crown Jewel in order to bring change to the country.
“I think we should go. I think the only way to help with change over there is to go and not to cancel the trip. [The WWE women] performed in Abu Dhabi not too long ago, and I think we’ll be there eventually with [Saudi Arabia] and Crown Jewel.
“That’s the goal is to make things better everywhere and I think us not going—it doesn’t help. Going helps,” Orton said (H/T to WrestleZone).
