Ace Steel was quietly confident that he would not lose his job as a producer for All Elite Wrestling.
Steel was fired from AEW this week, seemingly due to his involvement in the AEW All Out 2022 backstage fight.
It is alleged that Steel bit Kenny Omega and threw a chair that hit Nick Jackson in the eye during the fight, which followed explosive comments from CM Punk.
Earlier this month, Steel tweeted about ‘Freedom’ leading some to believe he was expecting to be released.
Responding on the Wrestling Observer forums, Dave Meltzer said the opposite is true, and that he is surprised to have been let go.
“Nope [he didn’t think he would be released.] He actually thought the opposite and was surprised.”
Punk, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks remain suspended from AEW as the investigation into the All Out 2022 fight is ongoing.
