According to a report from the Wresting Observer, the word making the rounds backstage at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door was that Adam Cole suffered a concussion. That is the reason why the match appeared to have ended early.
While Kazuchika Okada was attempting to hit the rainmaker on Cole, he ducked the move and collapsed. White then came in out of nowhere and hit a Blade Runner on Okada.
Following the match, The Young Bucks and Kyle O’Reilly came out to check on Cole with the medical staff.
