According to several reports, WWE Superstar AJ Styles was working through an injury during Sunday night’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event. As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, Styles is said to be “banged up” and has been working through a few injuries in recent months. While he denies these reports, several people have confirmed that Styles is working through a hernia injury. Some believe AJ doesn’t want to publicly admit that he has an injury in fear that his push will be downgraded (for now). Multiple ROH and iMPACT! Wrestling sources have also said that Styles has never been one to complain about being injured and won’t admit it if he is (unless, of course, he’s sidelined or requires surgery, etc.).
With that being said, it seemed pretty clear during Sunday night’s pay-per-view event that something was bothering Styles. Also, Dave Meltzer added, “You can see when he moves that he’s hurting. You know, I guess it is whatever, but obviously he’s hurting. It was really noticeable watching that there’s something bothering him.”
