Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley is in the works.

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, the plan as of Saturday night due to the late changes made to WWE’s Day 1 pay-per-view event was for Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship (which he did) and then go on to face Bobby Lashley with the title on the line.

The finish of the Fatal 5-Way match at Day 1 came when Lashley got Lesnar in the Hurt Lock and Big E. made the save. It should be noted that Lashley never got hit with an F5 and that was done to protect him. Lesnar would then go on to hit Big E. with the F5 to win the title.

WWE has long discussed a match between Lesnar and Lashley but it hasn’t happened up until this point. Lashley has often advocated that he wants a match with Lesnar and that will now be taking place. As of this writing, there is no word on when the match will go down.

Additionally, the plan is still to have Lesnar face Roman Reigns down the road, likely at WrestleMania 38. These plans will include whatever was planned to take place at Day 1 in the WWE Universal Championship match that was forced to be cancelled after Reigns tested positive for COVID-19.
