We reported earlier this week here on eWn that MLW had given Brian Pillman Jr. permission to appear on AEW shows while they aren’t running events. MLW COO Jared St. Laurent has since confirmed that news.
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Pillman recently tried to get out of his MLW contract but they denied him. Pillman is under one of the older MLW contracts, which allows him to appear for other promotions. Some of the new MLW contracts are more restrictive.
MLW is currently planning to run live events on October 3rd and December 5th. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what happens with the pandemic. Pillman will be working those shows if he’s not released before then. For what it’s worth, MLW and AEW have worked out deals before. One of those deals included getting MJF before his deal with MLW expired.
