According to a report from ESPN, Cain Velasquez is not currently under contract with WWE. The site notes that talks are ongoing. It appears that he is working on a pay-per-appearance deal for now. With that being said, Velasquez is also still negotiating with both AEW and NJPW.
Velasquez confronted and attacked Brock Lesnar during Friday night’s WWE SmackDown! Live broadcast on FOX. There are rumors that he’ll be facing Brock Lesnar at the WWE Crown Jewel PPV event later this month. Velasquez has also already informed UFC that he has withdrawn from the USADA testing pool, effectively retiring from MMA.
