Earlier this week, eWrestling News reported that Sonjay Dutt had reportedly quit World Wrestling Entertainment.
Per PWInsider, reports are now surfacing that Dutt has signed full-time with WWE’s biggest competitor – All Elite Wrestling. This comes after prior reports that Dutt would be arriving in Jacksonville, Florida later tonight to be in attendance at tonight’s AEW taping. Now, it seems as if we know why.
There’s no doubt about it, Sonjay Dutt is definitely a great hand for All Elite Wrestling to have on staff to work with their upcoming crop of developing and developed talent.
On December 28, 2017, Dutt wrestled his final match-up (as of this writing) in a losing effort against Jonathan Gresham at NOVA Pro Such Great Heights. Afterward, Dutt would go on to work as a backstage producer for Impact Wrestling before transitioning into a role in WWE as a Performance Center Coach and backstage producer. Dutt had been with WWE since January 23, 2019.
It will be interesting to see if Dutt makes any on-screen appearances for AEW (similar to that of Dean Malenko), but we will just have to wait and see! Check back to eWrestling News for more AEW content.
