According to a report from Fightful, Ring of Honor and GCW officials met regarding a talent exchange between the two companies. The meetings resulted in GCW Superstars Effy and AJ Gray coming in for the last set of tapings. For what it’s worth, many people within Ring of Honor had “no idea” that the changes were being made at the time the two wrestlers were brought in, which was before the official announcement of a hiatus in 2020 was made.
Officials from ROH and GCW met before GGW’s “Fight Club” event and discussed the talent exchange. This is also what led to the Briscoes appearing at that same event. The talks didn’t progress much more than that. With that being said, there were talks of having Jay Lethal appear on GCW shows but the “talks didn’t make it that far.”
