As seen during last Saturday night’s Slammiversary pay-per-view event, Jay White made a surprise return to Impact Wrestling, as he confronted The Elite following Kenny Omega’s match with Sami Callihan. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that was not the original plan.

Impact Wrestling originally had plans for Andrade El Idolo to show up to help build his upcoming match with Kenny Omega at AAA TripleMania. Andrade would have been managed by Konnan, continuing the storyline that is going on in AAA. The idea would have been to feature a six-man tag team match at the TV tapings with Andrade and two others taking on Omega and the Good Brothers. Those plans were scrapped when Andrade and Impact were unable to come to terms financially.

In other news, Kenny Omega didn’t know Jay White was going to appear at the show and didn’t know what they were going to be doing until he arrived in Nashville, TV for the pay-per-view event.
