As seen on an episode of MLW: Fusion several weeks ago, MLW Middleweight champion Lio Rush defeated AAA Cruiserweight champion Laredo Kid to become a double champion. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match was taped in secret and it appears it took place way back in October. Of course, companies are able to tape matches so far in advance as there aren’t any fans in attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following his post-match promo, Lio Rush did not have the belt with him. The current plans have him going to Mexico to defend the title.
