Report – Major COVID-19 Outbreak In WWE NXT

According to a report from Jon Alba as well as Fightful, WWE was forced to change up some of their NXT TV plans over the past several weeks as multiple Superstars tested positive for COVID-19. According to reports, there were several positive tests when they recorded their TV on September 9th. Due to this, “significant changes” were made to what aired on TV. Many of the recruits training at the temporary Performance Center tested positive for the virus.

Following the outbreak, several classes at the WWE Performance Center were canceled. As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, WWE is using a temporary building across the street from the Performance Center as the main facility is currently being remodeled. Only some of the “essential coaches” stuck around. WWE requires all talents training at the Performance Center to wear masks while outside the ring, but not inside the ring or in the gym area. WWE was reportedly aware of the situation before last week’s episode of NXT.

This is the second COVID-19 outbreak in WWE as they had another one back in June that affected many main roster talents.

Jon Alba took to Twitter today to reveal that one of his sources had gotten “relaxed” about mask wearing in areas where some people gather and that there had been concern over that. He also noted that some people were still testing positive for COVID-19 as recently as this weekend.
