According to a report from Pwinsider, WWE had plans for Marina Shafir going forward despite her release on Friday. WWE officials were planning to change Shafir’s ring name and several pitches had been made for a new name and character.
As many of you know, Shafir was released on Friday alongside Killian Dain, Tyler Breeze, Fandango, The Bollywood Boyz (Singh Brothers), Ever-Rise, Tony Nese, Arturo Ruas, Curt Stallion, Ariya Daivari, August Grey, and Tino Sabbatelli.
As noted earlier, WWE President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan is said to be “willing to take the heat” for this round of WWE releases. According to Fightful, Khan isn’t concerned with “prior plans, projects, who the person is married to, how long they’ve been signed, or what they have going on.”
