A new WWE World Championship design has been approved by the “decision-makers” in WWE and is expected to be introduced to programming very soon.

At WrestleMania 38 last April, WWE unified the company’s two World Championships to create the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, currently held by Roman Reigns.

It was reported not long after that WWE had been making plans to either split the titles or introduce a new World Championship so that RAW and SmackDown could have their own World Championships again.

WrestleVotes reports via GiveMeSport that a new design has been created and is ready to be used. They said,

“There’s a new belt. I don’t know for sure if it’s getting a new name. I don’t know if one of the titles is going away, but there’s a new belt that WWE has made and the decision-makers have approved. Like, if they wanted to introduce it on TV tomorrow, they could. Those boxes are checked.”

Roman Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania: Sunday this weekend against Cody Rhodes.
