This week, an extended episode of Dynamite aired on Friday night opposite FS1’s airing of WWE SmackDown. The episode was branded with the “extended” label because of the additional footage shown in the episode, including set-up footage for Adam Page vs. PAC at AEW Full Gear on pay-per-view 11/9.
Dave Meltzer, on his Wrestling Observer Radio show, said that the decision to run an elongated edition of Dynamite was not a thrown together decision by AEW and was planned ahead of time. Meltzer would also say AEW is not intentionally picking a fight with SmackDown and even said that’s a fight AEW would lose if attempted.
Meltzer would cite FOX’s airing of a shortened episode of SmackDown this upcoming afternoon as proof that FOX is fully supportive of the WWE product.
