Ronda Rousey reportedly requested Brian Kendrick to produce her SmackDown Women’s Championship match at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.
In February of this year, Kendrick left WWE and was set to debut for AEW days later before controversial comments from his past caused his match to be canceled.
Kendrick produced Rousey’s SmackDown Women’s Championship match with Shotzi at WWE’s most recent Premium Live Event.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Rousey specifically wanted Kendrick to produce the match at Survivor Series: WarGames.
“Brian Kendrick was Ronda Rousey’s original wrestling trainer, and she suggested, she asked, for him to be brought in for her match with Shotzi. So he was in on Saturday, and it was not a hire.
“You could say it was a tryout, I wouldn’t say it wasn’t a tryout, but it really wasn’t like a normal tryout. It was more Ronda Rousey asked for him to help her.”
