According to a tweet by Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Vince McMahon reportedly called an emergency meeting to rewrite the entirety of tonight’s SmackDown.
The previously-announced tag match of The New Day versus Elias and Drew McIntyre has been scrapped as the new day will be in the corner of Kofi Kingston when he battles AJ Styles. Drew McIntyre instead battled Kevin Owens.
This is the second week that Eric Bischoff has been in the role of Executive Director of the blue brand and this is the second week that we receive reports of massive rewrites.
Last week, Shawn Michaels was supposed to be on commentary but he instead was in the segment with Dolph Ziggler and The Miz. It’ll be interesting to see if these rewrites continue.
