While Vince McMahon hasn’t been at any WWE television tapings since the post-WrestleMania 39 edition of RAW, he is still playing a role behind the scenes.
According to a report from Fightful Select, McMahon often makes changes remotely and many talents are taking a “wait and see” approach to see just how involved McMahon becomes over time.
As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, WWE management continues to tell the roster that Triple H is still in his role and is the head man in charge of WWE’s creative process. Despite this, late changes are often being made by Vince on a remote basis.
It’s worth noting that when Vince McMahon shows up at the TV tapings, the changes are much heavier and have less logic to them. Several key members of the roster claim that McMahon often calls in the changes at the last minute. With that being said, multiple talents have been given a lot of flexibility in their promos as of late. That wasn’t the case when Vince was overseeing pre-taped promos.
Following the recent European tour, morale in the company was said to have been high. One talent said it was the most fun tour they’ve ever done. The morale is also higher due to the fact that Vince hasn’t been attending the shows in person.
Finally, several people in management and on the roster believe that McMahon chose to work remotely because he finally realized the chaos he created by being backstage. Others remain “on guard” for the time being.
