The WOW – Women of Wrestling promotion recently tried to get La Rosa Negra to sign with the company.
According to a report from Fightful, WOW attempted to get in contact with Rosa, but there was an incident where WOW Superstar Tessa Blanchard allegedly used a racial slur and spit on Rosa several years ago.
That incident took place back in Japan in 2017 and it surfaced in January of 2020 when Blanchard was about to win the Impact World Championship. At the time, Blanchard took to social media and called for more women to “try supporting one another.” Several people then came to the defense of Rosa, noting that Blanchard was well-known for her bullying. Of course, Blanchard has denied these allegations.
According to people close to Rosa and WOW, the company made a pitch to her that she could work for WOW and that she and Blanchard would appear together in some capacity. As of this writing, there is no word on whether that would have taken place on the actual show or social media. There were various pitches made where there would be an “apology” to “ease tensions” between the two women. With that being said, Rosa was said to have been “insulted” by the offer.
It should also be noted that when the NWA originally made contact with Blanchard, one of the ideas they had was a private meeting between Blanchard and Rosa to resolve their issues.
