WWE has been aware for some time that The Rock would be unlikely to compete at WrestleMania 39, it has been claimed.

This week, it was reported that the Brahma Bull is unlikely to compete this year, as he believes there is not enough time to get into ring shape for WrestleMania 39.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that some in WWE have known about The Rock’s status for quite some time. He said,

“It was known by insiders as the probable thing for a while. It’s not like something he all of a sudden gave the final word on [a] Thursday, like ‘Hey, I’m not doing it.’ It’s like they were aware.”

Meltzer also refuted the idea that the Bloodline acknowledgment ceremony scrapped from tomorrow’s RAW was canned due to The Rock’s WrestleMania status.

It has been suggested that there is something in the works still and that WWE is attempting to throw fans off the scent of The Rock’s return.
