At the conclusion of Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite, we saw Kenny Omega defeat Joey Janela. Following the match, Omega and his manager Don Callis were confronted by The Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero and Rey Fenix). PAC informed Omega that they have unfinished business that needs to be resolved.
PAC informed Omega that Rey Fenix would be challenging him for the AEW World Championship on December 30th (AEW New Year’s Smash – Night 1). The match was then made official by Tony Khan at the end of the show.
