On late Tuesday afternoon, WWE posted a video of Kayla Braxton announcing that Rey Mysterio had suffered an ankle injury. Mysterio was slated to take on Andrade on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live but that match had been pulled as a result.
The injury that he suffered happened during his contest against Baron Corbin in the main event on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Washington, DC at the Capital One Arena on the USA Network.
Mysterio is still scheduled to challenge WWE United States Champion Samoa Joe at WrestleMania 35.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Mysterio’s injury is indeed legitimate and the status of his match is unknown.
