WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has claimed that Tony Khan pulled the plug on him being a manager for Andrade El Idolo in AEW.

Flair left WWE in August 2021 and it was believed at the time that he’d join All Elite Wrestling to manage Andrade who had previously fired both Vickie and Chavo Guerrero as his managers.

Speaking on the latest episode of his ‘To Be the Man’ podcast, Flair regretted not being brought into AEW.

“I wish Tony would have let me manage him [El Idolo.] He is an absolutely phenomenal work and tough kid.

“I wish I could have managed him… Tony elected not to go with me for whatever reason.”

It is believed that the Dark Side of the Ring episode covering the Plane Ride from Hell derailed plans to bring Flair in.

Flair was part of the infamous May 2002 flight and is alleged to have exposed himself to female flight attendants and forced at least one to touch his genitals.
