Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has admitted he’s not as close as he once was with Evolution ally Triple H.
In 2001, Flair returned to WWE and would align with the Game the following year, while behind the scenes, Triple H would help Ric’s confidence which was at an all-time low.
Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair discussed the status of his relationship with Triple H following a 2019 copyright dispute between Flair and WWE.
“I don’t think we’re thick as thieves, but I can tell you this. We had a big falling out over the trademark, ‘The Man’ issue, a big falling out.”
The trademark dispute saw WWE attempt to copyright ‘The Man’, a term used for Becky Lynch, which Flair believed belonged to him due to his years of calling himself ‘The Man.’
Flair added that he was one of the first people to contact Stephanie McMahon after her husband’s cardiac event last year.
Speaking about the future, Flair said:
“I can guarantee you this, I will be at his funeral, and I’ll guarantee you this, he will be at mine. Everybody else can say what they want to say, make of it what they want.”
Ric Flair left WWE last Summer over issues with WWE Creative.
Despite reported plans for him in AEW, the Dark Side of the Ring episode that covered his alleged actions on the infamous Plane Ride from Hell derailed those plans.
