Pwinsider is reporting that longtime wrestling promoter and trainer Rick Bassman was spotted at WWE’s Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut today. Bassman had a meeting with WWE Executive Chairman Of The Board Vince McMahon. For those unaware, Bassman is famous for scouting Sting and The Ultimate Warrior.
In other news, BJ Whitmer was released from AEW following his arrest for domestic violence and burglary, and a new report suggests that Whitmer had some heat prior to his firing.
AEW fired Whitmer following his arrest on charges of strangulation in the first degree and burglary in the second degree. The company issued the following statement earlier this week:
“B.J. Whitmer has been terminated following his arrest on domestic violence charges. While talent and staff are ultimately responsible for their own personal actions, this behavior is intolerable within AEW. AEW has reached out to offer support to those impacted by his behavior.”
According to a report from Fightful Select, there was heat on Whitmer over the way he had produced a recent match. No further details on the matter are known.
