Ring Of Honor wrestler Kazarian was a recent guest on The Roman Show to offer his perspective on pro-wrestling theme songs and his relationship with WWE superstar Chris Jericho. Kazarian is also the bassist for the rock band Vex Temper, which offers that correlation between himself & Y2J.

Here are the highlights from the interview:

Kazarian On Chris Jericho:

“I know Chris. We go back and forth on text about music. FOZZY’s last two records are good. He has the showman aspect when he hits the stage.”

On Creating Theme Music For A Wrestler:

“You need to look how well the character is defined. What elements you can pick out that would translate to the music. Look at the Ultimate Warrior, jacked guy, long hair. That is basically heavy metal. Use the riff.”

Kazarian On Music Always Being A Part Of Who He Is:

“I guess pro wrestling came first. Music was always played in my house. It was everything from Rolling Stones to Frank Sinatra, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley to Johnny Cash. I really gravitated to wrestling when I was 7. When I was 11-years-old, Guns n Roses got me involved with my music. That was my gateway band. I started to play in 1995, three years before I started wrestling. I got busy with wrestling. It paid me money, so music was put on the back burner.”
