Is it time for Asuka to once again become the unbeatable force who dominated WWE NXT? ‘Road Dogg’ Jesse James certainly believes so.

Asuka, who previously competed as Kana, debuted for WWE in late 2015 and would remain undefeated for two-and-a-half years before her defeat to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34.

On his ‘Oh You Didn’t Know’ podcast, James spoke about the Empress of Tomorrow and his belief that she should be booked more akin to Roman Reigns. He said,

“I think as far as presentation, in ring skills, dare I say promo skills just because I love what she does and how she represents herself via her verbal skills.

“I just love it and I think everybody else does too. I think she should probably be the Roman Reigns of women’s wrestling right now. It’s just my opinion.”

Speaking about criticism over Asuka’s English-speaking promo skills, James didn’t see a problem in letting the Empress loose in her native tongue. He added,

“I think we’re past that as a culture, as a society. I think it’s totally okay if she spoke in her native tongue and we subtitled it.

“I think it would be totally fine how we do it now where she just goes off and you don’t know what she’s saying but you know she’s saying something that ain’t nice to you.”

Asuka most recently competed on the December 12, 2022 edition of Monday Night RAW in a loss to Rhea Ripley.
