WWE Hall of Famer ‘Road Dogg’ Jesse James has had nothing but praise for company veteran and former 24/7 Champion R-Truth.
James, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019 as part of DX, was released from his backstage role this year as part of a shake-up within NXT.
Appearing on the “Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw” podcast, James highlighted the success of Truth and referenced his 2011 heel tag-team with The Miz:
“He [R-Truth] still looks great, doesn’t he? It’s incredible. Anything he touches turns to gold and that’s just the truth and so, I don’t know if you remember, he main evented SmackDown a couple times where I looked at Vince [McMahon] and said, ‘We’re gonna have R-Truth and Miz main event the show?’ And he said, ‘Just wait till I’m done’ and I swear to God, the ratings went up and everything.”
R-Truth debuted on WWE TV back in 2000 as K-Kwik but was released two years later.
Returning under the R-Truth name, the veteran Superstar has has two reigns as United States Champion, one as WWE Tag Champion (with Kofi Kingston) and 53 reigns as WWE 24/7 Champion.
