We have reported earlier on the site that there is backstage heat on Baron Corbin.
Corbin cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on last week’s episode of SmackDown Live but lost in the WWE Championship match against Jinder Mahal. He then lost to John Cena during the opening match on the SummerSlam main card.
Fans have picked up on Corbin having backstage heat and even chanted “You f–ked up” when he appeared during the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III Kickoff show this past Saturday night. According to Dave Meltzer, Corbin is definitely being punished, and the way he was booked in his match with Cena was indicative of his heat.
SmackDown producer “Road Dogg” Brian James downplayed Corbin’s status with WWE in an exchange with another user. You can see his tweets here:
He lost to Cena in a match.

I just don't see how working with Cena at SummerSlam is a negative. It's 1 beat of the whole song, 1 moment in a long career.

Well, it's a good thing we have 52 weeks this year and the same again next year. I'm being facetious but you get my point I think.
