— Former Spanish announcer Miguel Alonso has passed away at the age of 89. He has been in the business since the 1960s. He was a Spanish announcer for the WWE in the 80s and WCW in the 90s.

— Rosa Mendes continued to complain about herself, Primo and Epico being left off Sunday’s Wrestlemania 28 PPV and this week’s episode of SmackDown. She wrote: “It’s amazing how “I called my Momma” and she asked me why Brodus Clay and his Mommas were on Wrestlemania when people would rather watch Primo and Epico wrestle and me dancing my salsa instead!!! Primo with Rosa Mendes not on SmackDown! Funny how nobody is manning up against us! I can’t get angry! It’s pathetic!” Her rant is part of WWE’s initiative to integrate storylines on the website.

— Lex Luger was one of the guests at the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony last Saturday in Miami, Florida.

— Due to lower physical sales of toys in a digital age, Mattel is creating a platform called Apptivity that will “allow kids to take a physical toy and safely play with it on their iPad’s screen.” They plan to release WWE toys for the platform late this year, along with Barbie, Angry Birds and other brands. In May, Mattel will test the new platform with Hot Wheels Apptivity.
