Ross & Marshall Von Erich Test Positive For COVID-19

Ross and Marshall Von Erich took to Twitter today, announcing that they have both tested positive for COVID-19 and their match at MLW Blood & Thunder is now off.

MLW Blood & Thunder takes place tomorrow night at Gilley’s in downtown Dallas.

Ross said,

“Announcement: My brother and I are covid positive and unfortunately won’t be able to make the Dallas show Jan 22. Ruled medically unable to perform by @MLW medical staff. I’m sincerely sorry to all the fans who bought a ticket to see us. Please enjoy the show, see y’all in March.”

Marshall added,

“Completely devastated. Found out I won’t be able to wrestle tomorrow night because we tested positive for Covid. Never been so prepared for a match in my life. This one hurts, I feel gutted. I was so excited to see everybody it’s been to long but I can’t now. I love you Texas.”

MLW also sent out the following press release regarding the positive tests:

The Von Erichs have been ruled medically unable to perform by the league’s physician Dr. Nelson Sweglar, due to testing positive for COVID as part of MLW’s COVID health and safety protocols.

“The safety and well being of our fans, staff, and competitors is number one,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “While we’re all saddened by this news, you gotta do the right thing and that’s placing the Von Erichs on our COVID reserve list. We promise the Von Erichs will be back healthy and ready for action when we return to Dallas March 31st.”
