It appears that reports of Josh Bredl’s WWE tenure being over are premature. While a report yesterday said that the Tough Enough co-winner had been one of the NXT talents released alongside Andrea Ocampo and Chris Atkins, that seems to not be the case.
As of this morning, Bredl is still under contract to NXT.
The traditional post-WrestleMania ratings slump continues. Tuesday’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live! brought in a 0.75 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and 2.493 million viewers, down 7% and 2% from last week’s 0.81 demo rating and 2.544 million viewers. Both numbers were lows for 2017, beating the previous low of last week’s 0.81 demo rating and January 10th’s 2.533 million viewers.
Much like RAW, SmackDown! was beaten down by the NBA Playoffs per Showbuzz Daily, which dominated the night among cable originals. The Oklahoma City vs. Houston game at 8 PM on TNT earned a 1.69 demo rating and 4.145 million viewers while the 11:00 game that followed had a 1.37 demo rating and 3.180 million viewers. Unsurprisingly, the playoff games both had strong male demo ratings which is where SmackDown!’s audience is weighted toward.
