We have some rumors on possible plans for WrestleMania 39. Some rumored match-ups include John Cena vs. Logan Paul, and more.
According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, Paul vs. Cena is currently the plan for WrestleMania. Paul issued a challenge to Cena via his Impaulsive podcast back in November. Since then, there hasn’t been any on-screen development for the potential match. Despite that, it’s still being considered for the ‘Mania card.
There is more on the John Cena front. At the end of December, Austin Theory was scheduled for a live event in Toronto. Theory was pulled from that event so that he could fly down to Tampa, FL to film a segment with John Cena. It is unknown what the segment was filmed for. It could have been done for WWE 2K, for future use, or for a digital release. Fightful confirms that the segment was filmed, but that its purpose is unknown.
The report goes on to state that additional match-ups are “confirmed” for the WrestleMania card. One of those matches includes Seth Rollins facing off with either Drew McIntyre or Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship. This would obviously take some storyline creativity, since Roman Reigns holds both the Universal and the WWE Championships.
As for Reigns himself, a Universal Championship match is rumored, with the Tribal Chief defending against either The Rock or Cody Rhodes. The Usos are rumored to be defending their tag titles against the team of Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn.
