As we’ve noted, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville is no longer with the company.
Neville was officially released from his WWE contract earlier this month after several months of having it frozen after he walked out on the company. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there is no 90-day No Compete clause in his deal.
That means Neville can begin working for another promotion as soon as he’d like to do so. Also, the reason WWE didn’t release Neville when he initially requested, in 2017, was because WWE didn’t want to set a precedent that talent could just up and leave to another promotion whenever they wanted.
Meltzer noted that Neville was expected to go to New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) when he first asked for his release. Neville’s contract was then frozen for 10 months and it’s unknown how the two sides worked out the terms of his release. Neville wanted out of the company because he was unhappy with his creative.
