Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made a surprise return to WWE on last Monday’s ‘Day 1’ themed episode of RAW, confronting Jinder Mahal and teasing a potential match with his cousin, Roman Reigns.

On a recent edition of his “1 Of A Kind” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam discussed The Rock’s return to WWE programming. He said,

“The Bloodline is or has taken over, and The Rock’s coming to support that. That’s why he’s coming back. He’s not coming back because he misses wrestling. He’s not coming back because he needs to get in the ring again, real bad. Making all that money, doing movies, has [been] wearing him out, and he needs to get in the ring and bang his elbows and knees or anything like that. He’s coming to support his family and to pay it forward with The Bloodline by drawing attention, and money, and everything that comes with that.”

In other news, Rey Mysterio got involved in a feud with Kurt Angle after signing with WWE in 2002.

During one of his promo segments, Angle remarked that Mysterio is “a boy in a man’s world” and he “loves to play with boys.

During a recent appearance at the Steel City Comic Con, Angle recalled the infamous promo where he was instructed to say things that he couldn’t get away with today.

Angle said,Yeah, definitely offensive. I said a lot of stuff back then. This was a time where I was cutting a promo on Rey Mysterio and I said, ‘Rey Mysterio, you’re a boy in a man’s world, and I’m a man who loves to play with boys.’ I was like, ‘No, that’s not what I meant.’ I did this like three times, I messed up and said something perverted. It became a meme and the fans loved it. I was a heel back then and it was a good time for the fans to make fun of me because I said something so messed up. I said a lot of stuff back then. I even said I’m not a fan of black people. I said some crazy stuff that Vince McMahon had me say and it just wouldn’t fly today. That was one of the promos that people took offense to. I enjoyed doing it, I really did, it was funny. I said whatever Vince McMahon told me to and I probably shouldn’t have said some things I said. Yes, I regret some things.”
