According to sources, WWE, more specifically Triple H, reached out to Rob Van Dam about three weeks ago about making a return for the company. He had originally planned to work two or three independent wrestling dates but recently notified promoters that he would only be able to work one of those dates.
According to sources, Van Dam will be working a very reduced/part time schedule. This will include pay-per-view, TV and select house show events. The deal is also a short one for the time being. RVD is playing it smart as he knows the return angle will be big and then he wants to know exactly what WWE has planned for him following that before he agrees to sign an extension.
The company reportedly has a storyline in place for him and that will begin at the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view on July 14th, 2013.
