Sami Zayn has weighed in on the possibility of resurrecting his iconic “Worlds Apart” babyface theme song for the upcoming WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event. The Premium Live Event is scheduled to take place in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal, where he will challenge his former Tribal Chief Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
As perhaps the biggest babyface in professional wrestling today, Sami Zayn is enjoying a surge of popularity, currently boasting more momentum than ever. Upon turning heel, he adopted a generic theme song to generate heat, as the WWE Universe has always shown a fondness for singing along to “Worlds Apart.” However, following his long-anticipated babyface turn, fans have expressed a desire for him to revert to his original theme. Given the overwhelming support he currently enjoys, it is speculated that the theme song’s reintroduction in Montreal would be nothing short of surreal.
In a recent episode of The Sick Podcast, Zayn expressed that WWE Elimination Chamber would be an ideal venue for a one-time return of “Worlds Apart”, but admitted to feeling that such a move would be a regression. He hinted that he might be in line for a new theme song instead. He said,
“I mean, if it were going to come back, I feel like that would be the time and place to do it. I’ve said this in other interviews. I feel like it would kind of be taking a step backward. I think maybe a new song is in the cards, but I feel like that song, even though people have a real fondness for it, it seems… From a character’s perspective, it just feels like taking a step backward. At the same time, doing it for like a one-night thing in Montreal might be cool.”
